On December 9, 2020, it
was announced that Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes would star in the
limited series True Story.
The web series is created and executive produced by Eric Newman. The web series is the television drama debut for Hart, who also executive produces,
along with showrunner Charles Murray, director Stephen
Williams and Dave Becky. Hartbeat
Productions and Grand Electric produce the series. Caroline
Currier, Mike Stein, and Tiffany Brown serve as co-producers.
True Story follows the controversial story
of a world-famous comedian desperately searches for a way out after a night in
Philadelphia with his brother threatens to sabotage more than his success, a
crime-thriller accidents happened with him are shown in this Web Series. Alongside the web series
announcement, Kevin Hart and Wesley Snipes were cast. In February
2021, Tawny Newsome, Paul Adelstein, Will Catlett, Chris
Diamantopoulos, Billy Zane, Lauren London, Ash Santos, and John Ales were cast. Theo Rossi
was cast a month later.
